Bank of Albania

The Bank of Albania (BoA) is the regulatory and supervisory institution of the banking system, being the institution that licenses, monitors and supervises the second-level banks and a certain group of non-banking financial institutions

The Bank of Albania aims to guarantee the security, stability, well-functioning and efficiency of the payment system and thus the systems for the settlement of securities in the Republic of Albania.

Since ALREG Securities Register is an important operator in the securities industry for the execution of transactions after trading and settlement of securities, the Bank of Albania is a key regulatory institution in the securities market because it defines procedures for licensing, regulation and supervision of operator’s securities settlement systems during the exercise of their securities settlement activity.
